Gum Arabic is a gum formed from the sap of Acacia trees and can be used in traditional stone lithography and aluminium plate lithography. Lump Gum Arabic must be grounded down to a powered and added to distilled water to make Gum Arabic Solution. Gum Arabic is applied to the litho plate to process the positive image by sticking to the non-oily surface. This ensures that the oil-based ink only adheres to the positive image. Ready-made Gum Arabic Solution is also available in 500ml, 1 litre and 5 litres.
